Wilderlab
Passive Sampler Pod
Passive sampler pod for Wilderlab, used across Aotearoa by communities and organisations for monitoring ecosystems and species. The pods pick up eDNA of plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms that are present in and around waterways, and is a useful way to keep track of invasive and endangered species.
Deployed in rivers and streams for 24 hours, water flows through a series of filters that collect particles of eDNA, which can then be PCR sequenced for DNA Metabarcoding to identify the species present in and around the waterway. Primarily used for ecology, conservation, policy, and education. The pods are designed and manufactured to be recycled at end of use, with a two part casing that doesn't require any adhesives.
